Solr for Magento Enterprise Edition

A successful implementation of Solr for Magento Enterprise Edition will require three task areas to be performed:

  1. Installation and configuration of Solr (either on a single server, or a cluster) within a web application container (such as Tomcat, JBoss, or Jetty).
  2. Extraction and population of your eCommerce product data into the Solr index.
  3. Integration of Solr search results into the Magento platform.

Magento Enterprise Edition customers have two of these three task areas already resolved within the Enterprise Edition platform: extraction of your product data, and integration of the search results into your storefronts. The only task remaining to be completed is the installation of Solr into a web application container.
