GSA 2: Deployment Intermediate

This 2-day, intermediate hands-on class is a follow-on to the GSA 1 - Deployment Basics class and is designed to take students to the next level of functionality and capabilities of the appliance. You will walk away with the knowledge and skills to deploy more features, especially around security and integrating more content sources.

Format

Instructor-led lectures accompanied by hands-on lab exercises, examples, and tutorials. Each student is provided access to a Google Search Appliance that is hosted at Google Labs, and is where hands-on labs are performed.

Participants receive slides and lab exercises, as well as links to other resources and code downloads.

  • Secure search with ACLs and groups
  • Searching file systems
  • Searching SharePoint
  • Writing a OneBox
  • Writing a feed
  • Integrating with SSO systems
  • Secure search with SAML bridge (for NTLM)

Prerequisites

To get the most out of the course students should be familiar with the following:

  • GSA 1 Deployment
  • HTML and XML
  • Web Servers
  • Databases
  • Search concepts
