BIRT provides two extension points that allow developers to create custom functions. The Aggregate Extension point allows the developer to create custom aggregations which can be called from within the BIRT Data Items and text controls. The Script Extension allows developers to create custom functions which can be called in any event handler or expression as Java Script.
